They're Doing Choreography! is a showcase of original dance compositions created by Dance Minor students in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Belmont. Each choreographer will present a movement piece that is unique to his or her life experience and that highlights the use of the moving human body as a means of expression. Participation in the showcase is a partial fulfillment of the coursework for Dance Composition I.

Continuing the celebration of the 400th Birthday of John Milton, author of Paradise Lost, Drs. Monteverde, Murray, McDonald, and Wells of the Department of English will each present brief talks on subjects related to the impact of the works of this great writer whose work at one time every educated English-speaking person could be expected to have read (as sophomore, non-majors in Dr. Monteverde's class this semester have done, bravo to them!). Topics of discussion will be Milton's Satan, which highly influenced European and American Romanticism, the role of music in the works of this blink poet, Milton's stance against censorship, and Milton's influence in China. At the end of the program, we will all eat cake and exercise our imagination to lighten the darkness with 400 fictive candles. Please join us!
